ATB: 2 week Old Brittany Puppies Weigh In

"Hard to believe Hemi and Treasure's beautiful puppies are already 2 weeks old. I think we'll see their eyes are fully open by the end of the weekend if not before as the lids have started to separate. Keeping the lighting low now intentionally. Coordination is really quite good. Their response to petting is really cute as they back into the palm of my hand as if to ask for more! Little woofs and some vocalizing becoming more frequent. Of course they sleep about 97% of the time but when Treasure steps into the box they are immediately aware momma is near. Last week they responded to the scent of John's cologne when he walked in as a couple of the pups lifted their head up high as if scenting the air. Then I received new perfume for Christmas and the same thing happened when I walked up to them wearing it for the first time. I just love seeing responses like that in such young pups! I was especially curious about their weight at 2 weeks and didn't really want to see this particular litter much over 2 lbs at this stage so I am happy about that. I think we're going to have to do our first revamp of the whelping box soon by raising up the sides a few inches before the first escape artist emerges. You know when they climb up onto the pig rail and stretch their little necks up high it's just a matter of time before they are up and over. Don't want to make it too easy for them, plenty of time for learning to climb in and out. So I really like the name BETH."

Hope you had a great Christmas!!! God bless you always, John and Ann and ATB
